Irish FTCH GLENANNE ABEL (kennel name: GIP)
http://www.altiquin.labradors.com/winnings_gip.html .... About GIP: This International Gundog and brilliant Irish FTCH has been bred by Mr. Thomas Brady. ALTIQUIN DOGS acquired him in January 2005 and trained him into a Field Trial Champion as of Oct. 2007. Gip is a brilliant casting dog both on marked retrieves and especially on blinds. He handles sublimely and holds his ground well on a hunt. He is a very very responsive dog. Gip is a pleasure to be with, a solid, quiet companion with an extremely gentle temperament, especially around young children. However he is very much an alpha male. In the kennel he is exceedingly quiet, patient, and clean. He is a joy and a treat, with an amazing capacity.
The 2006 Season was a season wherein Gip was in a position at the end of five or six trials to win them with an excellent performance up to that point. 'Lady Luck' played her part in insuring that he only had one first and two seconds for all his brilliant work. For, unfortunatey, in these five or six other trials, luck would have it that he failed on his very last retrieve, thereby forfeiting any award that he would otherwise have added to his collection.
I wish I had the time to type in and share more of our marvelous training & trialing adventures....

K9 Xena - KNPV training
Xena's appearance in the clip is at 00:45 secs and again near the end in the rain.
Recently, I was lucky enough to be invited to a KNPV demonstration/training day. This took part in Yorkshire, England and involved several Dutch guys from one of Holland's KNPV clubs. (Dutch Police Dog Training). After the more than impressive demonstration and display of both dogs, handlers and decoys, we were then afforded the opportunity to train/test our own dogs on the decoys. The KNPV method of dog deployment is quite different from other disciplines and although unusual, has many benefits. I particularly like the idea of close work with your dog - you & your dog in the fight against the decoy (bad guy). The experts on the day gave great instruction and it was a superb experience. Xena took it all in her stride and gave a very good performance, which I was most proud of.
